About

Mac's Arcadian

Mac's Arcadian make fearless, experimental and accessible performances for young audiences.

First realised in Belfast, in the late 1940’s by Margaret and John McAuley, Mac’s Arcadian began life as a travelling show, delivering brave and entertaining stories through vaudeville style sketches and the universal languages of music, mime, dance, song and the spoons!

Esther McAuley re-founded the company in 2017, adopting her Grandparents' philosophy, to make contemporary, visual theatre that thrives on risk, integrating creative access for audiences of all ages, with a focus on young people.

Mac's Arcadian's first production; GREAT ODDS written and directed by Esther McAuley, explores journeys and dreams, communication and friendship. Aimed at a family and schools audience.

Great Odds will tour the U.K Autumn '17. For more information, see current projects.
